– FIM History
The FIM (Federation of International Motorcycling) which is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing.
FIM was born from the Fédération Internationale des Clubs Motocyclistes (FICM), which itself was founded in Paris, France, on December 21, 1904.
The name was changed to the Fédération Internationale Motocycliste (FIM) in 1949, the same year that also saw the first race of the famed Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix. The headquarters were transferred to Geneva, Switzerland in 1959.
– OMAN Motocross
Motorcycle activities started in Oman in the early 80’s, when the first motocross track opened in OAA.
Oman Motocross Championship (OMX) has five different classes; any rider from age of six can join.
Last two years OAA took a big step by joining FIM, to get recognized worldwide and to encourage more riders to join as the safety standards are high.
The Championship starts every year on November, and its total of seven rounds.
– Other Motorcycle Activates
OAA has other motorcycle activates such as Oman Bike Week, as bikers from all of Arab countries gather in Oman to enjoy riding on mountain and cost roads, as they also compete on the custom bike show held on the same week.
During the same week young Omani riders showing their amazing skills on freestyle stunt show, as OAA offer the riders a safe environment to practice their hopes.
